I Screwed Up – Guest Post by Karl Moore
I'm always screwing up. 🤷
Sometimes I really think that I've got it, and that everything is “sorted”.
I totally, really, genuinely get that I'm not “broken” and don't need to be fixed.
But then some crisis will occur… 😖
And I'll end up dipping back into my old patterns, old behaviours, and old ways of thinking.
In other words, life inevitably drags me back into the human experience.
It has a way of doing that. 🦉
We often assume that as we get older, we get wiser. But that's not necessarily true.
Here's the thing.
As you age, you'll *still* make mistakes…
But they will be different mistakes, new mistakes.
I once read:
“Wisdom isn't about not making mistakes, but about learning to escape afterwards with our dignity and sanity intact.” 🙏
So the next time you screw up, or fall behind in your personal growth, don't be too hard on yourself.
Practice a little forgiveness for yourself. 🥰
These things happen.
It's how you respond to them that makes the difference.
