One of the most difficult things about healing from trauma is how confusing and lost you can feel because there doesn’t seem to be a clear path.
People tend to think of the long-term effects of trauma as psychological, but in fact, the body and brain both experience lasting biological changes.
Burnout, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD, pain, weight gain, gut issues and chronic fatigue are all part of the predictable patterns of stored trauma.
To find the way out, you have to understand the biology of trauma: the biology that predisposes you to trauma and keeps you stuck in fear, insecurity and inflammation even if you are doing all the treatments, therapy and meditation.
Patterns of stress and overwhelm that get wired into our nervous systems can have long-term effects on our health, becoming the true root causes of many symptoms and diagnoses.
The Biology of Trauma 3.0 Summit bridges the worlds of mental health, trauma therapy, neuroscience and functional medicine with experts who explore the emotional, psychological and physiological aspects of trauma. Why We Don't Always Know We Have Trauma
In these challenging times, many people are feeling incredibly overwhelmed and don’t know what steps to take next.
Overwhelming experiences, even past experiences in childhood – feeling like you don’t belong, feeling different, feeling that you’re unlovable – may not be something you would recognize as trauma in your life.
We often don’t see it as trauma because we’re thinking of it as “stress” or “emotion,” but it is the experience of overwhelm that impacts the body the most.
Trauma and chronic stress have lasting effects on our body and on our biology: burnout, depression, anxiety, PTSD, pain, weight gain, gut issues, trouble sleeping, chronic fatigue.

Free Gifts For Attending the Biology of Trauma Summit 2023
When you register for the Biology of Trauma 3.0 Summit, you'll get access to several free gifts, including:
Gift #1: “Steps to Identify and Heal Trauma!” eBook
The path to healing trauma starts with identifying where it originated and how it’s stored in the body. Learn strategies for releasing the imprint left behind after challenging experiences!
You might be surprised to learn that trauma is not an event. Although it might occur around an event, it is not about the event. Trauma is the experience your body had going through the event, or through a period of time.
Trauma is anything that, for any reason, at that time overwhelmed you. It’s the state of the nervous system at the time of an event that determines whether one person walks away from it fine and another is deeply affected.
And it is the biology of trauma that can contribute to many health conditions when trauma remains unresolved. How do you know if you have trauma? What can you do to fix it?
Get answers to these questions and take the next step towards your healing self and away from trauma when you read this free eBook.

About Your Biology of Trauma Summit 2022 Host – Dr. Aimie Apigian
Your host, Dr. Aimie Apigian, was inspired to leave her career as a surgeon and entered the trauma and attachment field because of the long and difficult experience of helping her foster son rewire his biology of trauma — a path of struggle and healing that led to the commitment to help others journey toward wholeness.
During her journey, she discovered that none of us are spared from negative life experiences that get stored in our bodies.
Her vision is to bridge the worlds of trauma and medicine in order to help more people be free from the effects of past trauma.
Dr. Aimie Apigian is a double board-certified medical physician in both preventive and addiction medicine and holds master’s degrees in both biochemistry and public health. She is the leading medical expert on addressing stored trauma in the body through her signature model and methodology, The Biology of Trauma™: a new lens that courageously uplevels the old methods of trauma work and medicine by reverse-engineering trauma's effects on the nervous system and body on a cellular level.
Dr. Apigian specialized in trauma, attachment and addictions after having personal experience in foster parenting, adopting and then having her own health issues that were a result of childhood and life experiences. In addition to her medical studies that include functional medicine certification, she has sought out trauma therapy training since 2015.
A three-time summit host, Dr. Apigian founded the nonprofit Family Challenge Camps, where she developed and ran weekend intensives for families with children who have experienced attachment trauma. She is currently the founder and CEO of Trauma Healing Accelerated, where she bridges the worlds of functional medicine and trauma therapy with a mission to help adults accelerate the healing journey by addressing the biological processes that keep stored trauma stuck in the body, mind and spirit. Her providers certification course teaches providers to do the same for their clients.
She’s here to help you by sharing her wisdom.
