Insulin resistance is at the root of these imbalances, leading to fatty liver disease, overweight, PCOS, pre-diabetes and eventually type 2 diabetes.
When your body’s cells become resistant to insulin, the pancreas compensates and starts producing more and more insulin until it can’t keep up – blood sugar levels keep rising… and the stage is set for illness and disease.
Insulin resistance impacts our ability to regulate blood sugar and energy levels, and can cause cravings for sugar and carbohydrates.

Questions to Ask Yourself About Potential Insulin Resistance
- Do you experience feelings of fatigue or feel sluggish or tired after meals, like you need to crash in the middle of the afternoon?
- Do your labs show high blood sugar first thing in the morning, or elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels?
- Are you finding it impossible to lose that last stubborn 15-20 pounds, especially around your belly and mid-section?
Chronic Inflammation and Insulin Resistance
One of the root causes of insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome is chronic inflammation.
When inflammation increases throughout the body, the body reacts by creating chemicals (called cytokines) that block insulin from properly doing its job…
Which can lead to weight gain, high blood sugar and increased risk for serious diseases such as heart attack, stroke, cognitive decline, PCOS, cancer and type 2 diabetes.
Sources of Inflammation That Can Lead to Insulin Resistance
- A diet consisting of refined carbohydrates & foods high in sugar
- Stress
- Poor sleep
- Hormone imbalances
- Environmental toxins
- Problems with the gut microbiome
However, many of these factors are within your control!
At the Insulin Resistance Summit, you’ll learn about:
- Natural solutions to reverse type 2 diabetes
- The connection between inflammation & insulin resistance
- The science of sugar addiction & how it hijacks the brain
- How to use diet & fasting to solve insulin resistance
- Which lifestyle factors lead to chronic inflammation?
- Key nutrients & supplements to improve metabolism
- Why gluten-free is not enough to stop inflammation
- 3 types of exercise to balance blood sugar & insulin
Get the latest research on the prevention and reversal of insulin resistance along with insider strategies to help normalize your blood sugar, reduce inflammation, supercharge your energy, heal your gut, lose weight and boost your metabolic health.

Sugar, Liver Health, and Type 2 Diabetes
If you’ve been diagnosed with diabetes or are overweight, it’s important to understand the connection between your overall health and the health of your liver.
By now most people understand that consuming large amounts of refined sugar and carbohydrates (as well as processed foods and fake fats) can lead to the development of type 2 diabetes.
Too much sugar causes blood glucose levels to skyrocket, which causes the pancreas to have to pump out high levels of insulin to process that glucose. Over time, our pancreas gets beat up, and our cells become resistant to insulin.
But what may surprise you is that this is only one pathway to diabetes. There is evidence showing the development of type 2 diabetes may also stem from a specific sugar’s effect on the liver.
Our livers turn fructose (readily found in most processed foods) into glycogen, a storage form of glucose in the liver, but if we aren’t active enough to use it up, any surplus fructose gets turned into fat, which can lead to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
And at the exact same time your liver is getting fat, it is also becoming insulin resistant. This combination causes elevated insulin throughout your body, leading to obesity, metabolic syndrome, other diseases, and eventually, type 2 diabetes.
There are, of course, natural lifestyle strategies to reduce the amount of fat in the liver, including regular exercise and the foods we eat.
During the Insulin Resistance Summit, you’ll learn more about:
- How insulin resistance leads to weight gain, diabetes & poor health
- How type 2 diabetes is a reversible condition
- Natural solutions to reverse type 2 diabetes
- Real strategies to break sugar addiction to improve your life
- Which foods & products to avoid to protect your metabolic health
- And so much more!
Along with the latest research on the reversal of insulin resistance and diabetes, you'll learn about effective, natural strategies to create metabolic flexibility and get your blood sugar under control.
