“I get asked, ‘Did you ever want to give up when you were running across America?' When I was running, my body ached intensely, my mind was tired, and my will-power was exhausted. Every day I wanted to quit. But I never quit and I never considered quitting.

A better question to ask is, “How did you know to keep going?” Part of the answer is to know that you are on the right path and see the signs confirming that you are suppose to be right here and right now.

Every day I would run a marathon distance a day. Plus each day I would speak to audiences in need. These were people in difficult life circumstances. I spoke to wounded warriors, homeless shelters, addiction centers, juvenile detention centers, and rural high schools.

Every time that I felt the weakest and the desire to give up was the strongest, something would happen that would give me strength and power to keep going. These were signs and gifts from the universe saying, “Have faith, stay strong, and keep going. I've got your back.”

It was day 21, I was in Las Cruces, New Mexico and I still had 5 miles to go when my body shut down and I collapsed to the ground. It was late at night and I was alone. Or so I thought. As I sat on the sidewalk and my body was screaming in pain, I saw something shinny on the ground. It was a red coin about the size of a half dollar. On it, it said, “One Month Sobriety.”

My dad was an alcoholic for many years until one day he had a day dream that he was talking to his father when he said, “Son, it's time to take your life back. I love you and know you can do it. You are stronger than this challenge. It's time to stop drinking forever.” My dad put down the bottle in his hand. Threw out all the alcohol in the house and he never drank again.”

That one month sobriety coin I found reminded me that my dad had the strength to overcome his greatest challenge. So I stood up, I put the coin in my pocket and I started walking. My last five miles should have only taken an hour to finish. It took me 4 hours to finish.

The universe is saying to you…

“Have faith, stay strong, and keep going. I've got your back.” The signs are there when you are at your darkest moments, you just have to believe.

That red coin that I found, I carried it with me for the remaining 79 days. I would hold it and rub it as if a genie was going to appear and it always helped me move forward. When I arrived in NYC at the finish line, I gave the coin to my dad. I told him the story of the moment I found the coin and he still carries the coin to this day.

Sometimes he tells the story about me running across America to his friends and they don't believe that it is possible. “Nobody can run a marathon a day.” He pulls out the coin and tells them the story. My dad has helped dozens of men stop drinking in his AA meetings and he has been sober for over 15 years.

We are all connected. Physically, energetically, vibrationally and spiritually. We are never alone. Always keep the faith that you are amazing and you are here to do something special.”

You may have a dream about starting a business but you have never had a business before. You may have a dream about loosing weight but have tried many diets and none have worked for you. Or maybe your family gives you a hard time about learning energy healing and they say “That woo-woo stuff doesn’t work.”

Here is what you do…

First…

Understand that they cannot see your vision and dream. The universe gave it to you and not them. So first stop trying to make them see it.

Second…

Follow what calls to you. I believe that if you are given the gift of an idea and you are inspired by it, then you have the ability to accomplish it and live it.

So if something is calling to you, then that is your journey to follow. But here is the important part, this is your journey. You have to lead by example. Start getting results and those who doubt you will eventually become your fans.

Third…

Totally align with your ideas and dreams if you want them to become a reality. You cannot be half-in and half-out. That’s like having a foot on the dock and a foot on the boat as it is floating away. What happens? You end up in the water and you are neither on the dock or on the boat, but you are soaking wet and your cell phone fell to the bottom of the ocean.

To attract, manifest, create, and live your ideas and dreams you must be aligned with your conscious, sub-conscious, and vibrational mind.

You’ve been given the gift of an idea and the ability to accomplish, now it’s time to it a reality. That is a process of letting go of what’s been holding you back, own your greatness, and step into your future before it has arrived.

There are several ways to do this.

You can struggle and hope.

You can hustle and grind.

Or…

You can align and flow.

Which sounds easier to you?

The best way I know to align and flow is with Neuro-3 programming that aligns the 3 levels of the mind. You will be amazed how you life starts to flow and you manifest the things that have always seemed to be out of reach.

This advice is from world record holder, and manifestation teacher, Croix Sather. He's an amazing person, with a huge heart.

In his video below, he explains how Neuro-3 programming works so that we can align more easily with our ideas, goals, and dreams.

A business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.

Suddenly an old man appeared before him. I can see that something is troubling you, he said.

After listening to the executive's woes, the old man said, I believe I can help you.

He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.

Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come. The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000. It was signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!

I can erase my money worries in an instant! he realized.

But instead, the executive decided to put the un-cashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought. With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.

Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the un-cashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man. I'm so glad I caught him! she cried. I hope he hasn't been bothering you. He's always escaping from the rest home and telling people he's John D. Rockefeller. then she led the old man away by the arm.

The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he'd been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him. Suddenly, he realized that it wasn't the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his new found self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he ever imagined.

Rebecca had decided that her best chance of getting hired by a company doing geological survey work in the Alaskan wilderness was to earn a private license to fly twin-engine planes. A few days later she began taking lessons from a wise old bush pilot, highly respected throughout the region for his cool and collected ways of dealing with the worst possible situations.

After the mandatory ground schooling, at which Rebecca excelled, and during her fourth lesson in the sky, the flight instructor gave her what she thought was a special treat: Taking his hands off the yoke, he turned the flight controls over to her. There she was, just as she had dreamed, sitting tall in the copilot's seat with the flight stick firmly in her hands.

Rebecca felt as though she was literally on “cloud 9” — at least, until a scant moment later when she found herself rudely awakened from her dream. She tried shaking her head to get rid of what was before her eyes, but that did not work. In the distance, through the windshield, she could see something rushing toward her faster than what she could think to do about it!

Right in the path of the plane, and seeming to have appeared out of nowhere, a huge snow-capped mountain lay dead ahead. Transfixed by its sheer mass, Rebecca found herself as frozen at the stick as were the iced and craggy peaks stretched out before her. And she was headed straight for them! A deep chill came into the cabin.

All along the wise old instructor was watching her closely, studying her reactions. Of course, she didn't know it, but he had turned the controls over to her for just this test now taking place. He waited until the last moment he could, and was just about to take over again, when Rebecca snapped out of her fear-induced trance. She looked away from the mountain and turned to face him.

Then, in a voice so trembling and timid that it even scared her, she broke the tense silence of the moment. “Sir,” she said, “please take over the controls. I'm afraid we are about to crash!” His reply stunned her. “No,” he spoke quietly, “I don't think I will. After all, it's your flight.”

It was getting harder for her to take in a whole breath, as if she were standing in the oxygen-thin air atop the great white mountain before them. Struggling to control her voice, she dug down into herself and managed to ask one more question of her teacher: “Then what should I do? Please, tell me what to do!”

She looked over at him again, and was surprised to see virtually no worry at all upon his face. His calm demeanor helped to steady her nerves. She took a deep breath and relaxed her hands that had just about choked the life out of the control yoke. The next moment he gave her a short three-word instruction, and she knew everything would soon be all right. He simply said, “Change your altitude.”

“Of course,” her own mind echoed back to his command, and a split second later she pulled firmly back on the yoke; the craft responded by rising, and mere moments later the icy peak passed beneath her and out of sight.

As Rebecca sat there, relieved by the results of her actions, she was struck by two things at once: How could she have forgotten that the controls were in her hands, and at least as important, why had she been unable to remember this on her own? At that moment, soaring at ten thousand feet above the ground, she made a silent vow never again to forget the lesson of this day:

She could choose her own altitude.

Yesterday, I realized I have accustomed myself to living a life of austerity. I noticed this as I found a gorgeous steel-string guitar at a local thrift shop for only $35 that I almost walked away from, thinking surely someone else needed it more than I did. I nearly walked away in spite of the fact that I'd been wishing for a steel-string guitar of excellent quality since I first began playing guitar in high school!

As I slowly took three steps away from the guitar, heading for the cash register, I found there was a palpable force of attraction between me and the guitar that brought me racing quickly back to embrace it again. I then carried this beautiful instrument with me around the store, confidant that “This is the guitar for me!” because it just FELT right.

Synchronistically, just a few days earlier I'd completed writing a piece for the September 2000 issue of Planet Lightworker online magazine called, “Recognizing Gifts”. I could see that I must have really written that article for myself, since I needed to learn and master the art of recognizing when a wish or prayer was coming true. Also synchronistically, just a couple of days after writing the article about recognizing gifts, and two days prior to seeing this guitar, I had consulted an Excellent Online Oracle for advice, and received the reply from the Odyssey of Life Oracle:

“A miracle is soon to occur in your presence.
Your challenge is to recognize it.”

In so many ways in my life, I suddenly saw how I have danced around the razor's edge of self-doubt. I have cut myself down to size before anyone else could do it, consistently making sure that others needs are tended to first, with little thought for myself.

Just a week earlier, I had visited Disneyland with my daughters, and we were walking through the New Orleans Square section when two men began tossing Mardi Gras necklaces out to the crowd. I made sure that both my daughters received these pretty beads by catching the eye of the man throwing the necklaces and pointing down at my daughters standing in front of me. Both times I did this, the man quickly threw a necklace directly to my daughter, and I helped her catch it. I walked away from the crowd with my daughters, telling them how glad I was to have gotten them such pretty necklaces, even though I didn't get one for myself.

“Why not, Mom?”

My older daughter, looking genuinely concerned for me.

“Because I don't want to take the beads that someone else might really want.”

Suddenly I heard what I had just said, and was flabbergasted. Did this mean that I have been passing by on countless opportunities because I didn't want to take something that another person might really enjoy? Does that mean I'm afraid that there is only a finite amount of what we all need in this world — and if so, what does that say about my faith? These questions helped me crystallize an awareness of some hidden beliefs I'd been living with without ever recognizing.

Yesterday in the thrift shop, I almost did it again… I almost walked away from what my heart desired. This time, however, the sweet spirit of the guitar connected with me so tangibly that I could not bear to walk more than three feet away from it. I couldn't bear the idea of setting it down, and when I picked it up I felt such a warm rush of joy and love!

I realized with a jolt that this guitar had not been in the store when I first walked in. I knew this for a fact, because I'd been carefully examining a curious wooden cabinet adjacent to the guitar, and I know I would have seen a guitar sitting so close nearby!

This guitar brings me a great gift. It shows me how I can accept gifts I truly need without fear of preventing someone else from having something good. This fear is ridiculous, for it would mean that this universe is not truly abundant, and that we are not all cooperating together at a very deep unconscious spiritual level.

As I waited in line to buy my gorgeous new instrument, a woman behind me in line asked with genuine interest, “Did you get a good deal on the guitar?” I beamed back with my brightest smile, my eyes shining with radiant ecstasy as I replied, “Oh, yes!”

I didn't realize it, but as early as 3 years old I was already spiritually aware. Well, sort of. You see, I don't remember being psychic in any way, and I certainly don't remember reading books like The Power of Now or watching movies like Peaceful Warrior. I didn't feel some grand connection to the oneness of the Universe, and I certainly wasn't aware of any out of body experiences.

One thing I did grasp though, was the power of the mind and spirit. I remember a recurring nightmare in which a bat would chase and scare the living daylights out of me! Every night. Over, and over, and over. When I told my Catholic mother of this, she told me I had the power to control my dreams. The ironic thing is, even after having all these terrifying dreams, I actually believed her.

Mind you, this was a bat with a wingspan as wide as my body was tall, and its body at least three times larger. It was especially frightening to a child my age. The dream came again, and again the bat chased me just like before… only this time I remembered my mother's words of wisdom. Before I knew it, I was riding this bat the same way that Atreyu from “The Neverending Story” rides Falcor. In that moment, I felt true freedom. A freedom that was revealed to me at the age of three through an introductory understanding of the power of intention.

I never had that nightmare again.

I did, however, gain the realization that I could influence my world. This came to be much clearer to me the following year when I turned 4. You see, my family would go to church every week. I didn't understand, and I certainly didn't like being there, but I had to go. I grasped the idea that there was a “God” who listened to our prayers and answered them, but frankly he just didn't interest me all that much.

What did interest me though, was another entity from above: the Universe. Nightly, I would gaze up in awe and childlike wonder at the constellations, the Moon, the Milky Way, and the shooting stars of the Perseids. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was looking at God through a child's eyes. I also didn't realize that would be my first experience in the true power of intention.

Every night I would pray. Not to God, as my two older brothers and I had been taught in church and by my mother, but rather, I would pray to the stars. I have no idea why I asked for what I did, but I was passionate and diligent about it. It didn't matter if we were at home or in the car, I would find the stars and pray for Siamese twin sisters.

Yes, you heard me right: Siamese.

Of course, at that age I didn't realize what Siamese meant. I just thought I was asking for two sisters at the same time. I can only imagine the combination of adoration and heartbreak my parents felt as they had already decided not to have any more children, yet watched their 4 year old son so intent on such a beautiful dream.

Months passed with no answer. It is said that prayer is talking to God, and meditation is listening for the answer, but at that age I knew none of that. For a young child, that could be quite distressing to ask over and over and receive no response. Not for me though, and for months and months I continued to pray to the stars for my Siamese twin sisters. I had an unending source of confidence and faith that the stars were listening.

And they were.

After several months, my parents informed me that I would have a Gemini sister to share the world with. As I look back on my life, I realize that at 4 years old I was taught the powerful lesson of intention and that the Universe is always listening, even if we can't hear its response. To this day, when I look up at the stars at night, I whisper inside myself:

“Star light, star bright. First star I see tonight. Wish I may. Wish I might. Give this wish I wish tonight…”
