3 Keys to Unlock Your Quantum Powers - with Jean HoustonMost people, regardless of age, race, or gender, have fantasized about having magical or “super” powers of some kind…

This is the reason books and movies about superheroes, wizards, mutants, and people with psychic powers are so popular—and embraced by both children and adults alike.

Those characters have abilities we wish we had, and they tap into our core desire to become the best, most skillful and adaptable human beings we can be…

Wouldn't it be nice to have those powers right now?

According world-renowned “Human Potential” pioneer, and bestselling author Dr. Jean Houston, each of us has access to 5 “Quantum Powers” that are latent within us.

While these powers don’t include the ability to fly, turn invisible, or walk through walls, they can allow you to:

  • Have a profound impact on people and the world at large, contributing to a collective healing
  • Dramatically expand your creativity
  • Rapidly accelerate your personal evolution
  • Maximize your time and experience true time freedom
  • Naturally attract more money and powerful connections in support of the projects that are most important to you

These “Quantum Powers” are inactive in most of us, but some of the most successful people in history have used them to achieve seemingly impossible things.

If you aren’t already familiar with Jean, she’s an internationally renowned author, philosopher, and scholar, who has written nearly 30 books, including several bestsellers.

Deepak Chopra called Jean “The most important person alive in the world today when it comes to human and social potential.”

Not only that, but she’s worked closely with Margaret Mead, Joseph Campbell, Buckminster Fuller, Bill & Hillary Clinton, and many other world leaders in more than 100 cultures around the world.

Jean also works closely with the United Nations, helping implement their international education and health programs, along with training leaders in developing countries.

Her list of accomplishments is already enough to fill five lifetimes, and now she wants to help you unlock your Quantum Powers so you can become the most evolved version of yourself, too.

These are the 5 Quantum Powers that Jean will be exploring during this inspiring online event:

Burn Your Bridges – by Chris Cade https://spiritualgrowthevents.com/burn-your-bridges-by-chris-cade/ Thu, 20 Apr 2023 22:54:12 +0000 https://spiritualgrowthevents.com/?p=21051 Years ago, I created a video based on several quotes from Mike Dooley's “Notes from the Universe.” In it, there's a quote that seems to resonate with where I'm at professionally right now: “It does little good to say you want something and then, ‘just in case,' prepare to do without. Burn your bridges.” Recently, I've burned several bridges in the pursuit of something greater… In the pursuit of serving you more fully. There are people in our community who have received my emails for 15 years. They may recall my earliest websites were my blog, a spiritual stories website, and a site with the Course In Miracles workbook lessons. Years ago, I created a video based on several quotes from Mike Dooley's “Notes from the Universe.”

In it, there's a quote that seems to resonate with where I'm at professionally right now:

“It does little good to say you want something and then, ‘just in case,' prepare to do without. Burn your bridges.”

Recently, I've burned several bridges in the pursuit of something greater…

In the pursuit of serving you more fully.

There are people in our community who have received my emails for 15 years.

They may recall my earliest websites were my blog, a spiritual stories website, and a site with the Course In Miracles workbook lessons. At one point, I also had a separate site just for inspirational videos. Then of course, we also have The Miracles Store.

Every time I had an idea, I would make a new website for it.

Fast forward a decade… until about two and a half years ago. I had the idea to start sharing free spiritual growth events.

Yes, ANOTHER website to add to my collection of “more websites than any human being can possibly manage.”

Well, not exactly. See, I didn't want to repeat that pattern. Instead, I just shared a little bit on Facebook.

Fortunately, it worked so well that I reluctantly decided to create an entire website and a new event announcements email list (which I've shared about before).

I built that website a little over two years ago. Since then, it's continued to grow… and it's something I've become passionate about.

Then it dawned on me…

*Everything* I've written and created for the last 15 years, on every website, was living in the wrong place.

My blog posts, the spiritual stories, the inspirational videos…

All of those websites I had created…

Were images of a person I once was, a business I once ran, and an outdated way I once served.

When I realized this, it shook me. I doubted what it was really saying underneath it all. However, I couldn't deny the truth.

It was time to burn my bridges.

And even though I knew that's what my business had come to, I still moved forward with a reasonable degree of logic.

Why?

Because I didn't want to repeat the big mistake I made when I first left the corporate world, and my six-figure job, to serve you….

I left too early. I burned that bridge before I was earning enough business income to sustain me.

Consequently, I went into many tens of thousands of dollars of debt.

So for anybody who wants to follow their passion and start a business, my first piece of advice is to keep your day job, build your business at night, and make the shift when it's financially wise to do so.

Needless to say, I learned an expensive lesson about burning bridges.

That's why this time, I did it systematically. I began to take the most popular spiritual stories, inspirational videos, and blog posts of mine, and move them over to this blog.

Eventually, I started to get a little more extreme. I moved over all of the ACIM workbook lessons from my ACIM website. Then I deleted that website entirely.

It felt weird. That was one of the first websites I ever created. And it just vanished from the internet in a split-second when I pressed the “delete” button.

I continued to move as many spiritual stories as I could, systematically, until I was so numb (there were about 1,000 of them!) that I couldn't take it anymore. I had almost given up on moving the several hundred remaining when my old Silicon Valley tech mind kicked in and thought of a solution.

Within 15 minutes of starting that idea, another website of mine vanished from the internet. That was the very first spiritual website I created.

A part of me mourned. See, that wasn't just the first spiritual website I created…

It was the REASON I served you. I used to send out emails with spiritual stories and “reflection questions” every couple of days.

At the time, I wasn't really very spiritual. Okay, let me take that back. I wasn't spiritual at all.

I made the site for my then-wife to share her spiritual stories. I saw it as a way to earn extra money beyond my Silicon Valley salary. I built it not out of service, but out of ego.

However, people started replying to my emails. They said “Thank you” for making a difference in their lives. The more thank you emails I received, the more I wanted to send emails.

Knowing I made a difference made ALL the difference. That made me want to serve you full time and leave the corporate world.

Circling back… two sites of mine literally vanished from the internet.

Amidst all of this, I realized that so many of the blog posts I wrote for The Miracles Store didn't really belong there. They weren't about the mission and the message.

That's why I moved almost all of those blog posts also over to this blog, and even though I didn't delete The Miracles Store, it's blog is a barren wasteland now.

Lastly, I was faced with the website that came before them all… mine.

Every day, I'd read a few of my previous blog posts and ask myself, heartfully and candidly, “Should this still exist? If so, where?”

See, I've been writing and serving you for fifteen years. Over that time, I've grown and changed a lot. Some of what I wrote doesn't reflect who I am now, how I think now, or the messages I want to be putting into the world.

That's why, with many hundreds of blog posts still there, I went through them, one by one, and deleted it. I either saved it (for later editing and republishing), edited it and posted it to this blog, or I just deleted it.

Like The Miracles Store, though I didn't delete my website, there are no more blog posts on my blog.

Why?

Because when I really looked at the HEART of everything I've done, I realized one simple thing:

The last fifteen years of serving you align perfectly to help this website, this mission, live up to its potential… and serve you and others with everything I've created and will create.

It's been a very emotional shift. Burning those bridges hasn't been easy nor fast.

It's been a slow burn of trusting the Divine, and of letting go of everything I've created from the last fifteen years that no longer serves you nor me.

My heart tells me that this is where my entrepreneurial efforts need to live right now. It tells me to go “all in” and I have been, more and more with each passing day.

Burning those bridges has also felt very freeing because now, I feel like my attention and energy are hyper-focused on what really matters.

The thing is, this message isn't really about me. It's about you.

Where in your life do you have something that needs your fully attention? Maybe it's a relationship, a job, a hobby, a business, your health, or some other passion?

What bridges can you burn… that will literally *force* you to succeed in accomplishing your goal?

When you let go of what no longer serves you, when you let burn what no longer needs to live in you, you'll find more energy, power, light, and freedom to become your best self.

Try it and see what happens. Your future self will be glad you did. 🙂

Not Liking Something Is Not A Valid Reason to Reject It – by Chris Cade https://spiritualgrowthevents.com/not-liking-something-not-valid-reason-to-reject-chris-cade/ Tue, 08 Nov 2022 19:47:59 +0000 https://spiritualgrowthevents.com/?p=19497 I'm fully aware that this flies in the face of common logic. Our critical mind is quick to find examples where this doesn't seem true. The thing to understand is that sometimes what we need most is something we may not like. Our preferences are not always indicators of what is truly best. Therefore, we have to use different criteria than ‘Like’ and ‘Dislike’ to know if rejecting something is truly in our best interests. For example: ‘I don’t like meditation.” “I don’t like eating healthy foods.” “I don’t like exercising.” “I don’t like my experience right now.” The list goes on. And when we reframe it back in the context of raising children, it’s even easier to see the fallacies inherent in assuming that because we don’t like something, that is a valid reason to reject it. Kids reject all kinds of things that are good for them… just because the kids don’t like them. (And so do we) A natural response is to cite examples where this doesn’t seem true. For example, not liking “negative” people, grease or slime, being overworked and underpaid, etc. But in those examples, the rejection is not actually related to Liking or Disliking. The Like / Dislike is actually a resulting consequence of something deeper. It's that underlying feeling that you are being pulled away from your True Nature. At the heart of the matter, I’m not suggesting we suddenly just accept or be okay with all the things we Dislike. That would be both foolish and potentially dangerous. What I am suggesting and encouraging is that we use a different set of criteria other than “Like” and “Dislike” to decide whether or not rejecting something is the best course of action. I'm fully aware that this flies in the face of common logic.

For example:

  • ‘I don’t like meditation.”
  • “I don’t like eating healthy foods.”
  • “I don’t like exercising.”
  • “I don’t like my experience right now.”

The list goes on. And when we reframe it back in the context of raising children, it’s even easier to see the fallacies inherent in assuming that because we don’t like something, that is a valid reason to reject it.

Kids reject all kinds of things that are good for them… just because the kids don’t like them.

(And so do we)

A natural response is to cite examples where this doesn’t seem true.

Let's look deeper, let's take a long-term view, let's pursue the truth of the moment. Then, and only then, can we truly know if rejecting something is in or best interests.

“Pain Is An Illusion. We Are One.” Is This Actually True? – By Chris Cade https://spiritualgrowthevents.com/pain-is-an-illusion-chris-cade/ Tue, 11 Oct 2022 18:34:00 +0000 https://spiritualgrowthevents.com/?p=19280 When my son was younger, I used to read to him every night. We both loved it. In one of his magazines there was a short story called “The Cheetah Nursery.” It shared about the process that baby cheetahs go through from birth until they are ready to live on their own. For several weeks in a row, my son wanted me to read that story every night. I did, and he listened intently. Then one day he started reading it to me. Never mind that he doesn't know how to read; he was telling me the story. However, it became quickly clear when he'd say certain words that didn't match, that he wasn't actually reading. He was reciting from memory the story. He had associated certain pictures with certain sentences and was able to correctly remember the context of the sentences and got about 90% of the words correct. It reminded me of something that we often do with our inner work… A teacher tells us about a spiritual Truth, we like it, and we adopt it as our own. We start reciting it like a mantra or affirmation, perhaps even teaching it to others, without having the experience to know it's true -for us- specifically. It's in our head, but not our hearts. It should be no mystery I'm a huge fan of finding out what is true for myself. That's why I encourage you to do the same. So what good does it do to recite to ourselves spiritual Truths like “Pain is an illusion” when we're in the middle of a debilitating disease, an emotionally traumatic situation, or a severe injury? It does us no good. That just becomes a denial. It's another version of “The Lie About Positive Thinking.” It lacks compassion and denies us...

When my son was younger, I used to read to him every night.

It reminded me of something that we often do with our inner work…

A teacher tells us about a spiritual Truth, we like it, and we adopt it as our own.

It's another version of “The Lie About Positive Thinking.” It lacks compassion and denies us important aspects of our humanity such as our vulnerability and our potential to grow.

Spiritual Story of The Zen Monk Whose Child Had Died

I am reminded of a story about a Zen Monk whose child had died. He was weeping uncontrollably for days… for weeks. He was in a state of terrible sorrow and completely inconsolable.

One day a student of his came up and said to him, “Pain is just an illusion.”

I don't know about you, but in that situation, if somebody said that to me, I'd find it hard to stay kind, compassionate, and not step into a state of anger.

Anyway, do you know what the Zen Monks said?

“Yes. But the death of a child is the greatest illusion of all.”

This is the reality of life. It's a tough road. The teachings are not here to be adopted and recited… they are here to guide us towards the Truth of our experience.

I find similar challenges with all spiritual teachings. It's easy to read a book that teaches us “We are all one,” and some of us are privileged enough to have at least a brief experience or two of living it.

“We are all one” sounds great. It's a wonderful principle to guide us act more compassionately in the world.

But do we really feel like one when we're facing life challenges like having our heart broken, being betrayed by a coworker, or when people project their anger onto us? (or us onto them??)

It's not so easy at those times. That's when we have to practice the Truth… and often at the same time, accept the times when we feel unable to live the Truth.

It's really no difference than my son “reading” his story to me. He's reciting just a piece of what his mind knows, without him having the experiential understanding of what it means to read.

On that note, next time you hear a spiritual Truth that sounds good…

Next time you read a book, email, or quote that seems to resonate…

Put it to the test.

Don't just listen to the words. Let them land with you. Try it out in your life. Live the teaching and see what you discover. Then practice living it more with each passing day.

Maybe you'll discover that we are all one. And perhaps you'll also discover what blockages you have to living that every moment of every day. You might find yourself deepening into that Truth and experiencing it more with each passing day.

Or perhaps you'll discover that we're all separate beings, living separate lives, uniquely. Unable to connect.

I don't know what you'll discover. What I do know is this:

“Adopting other peoples' opinions as your own is like seeing fire on a TV and being scared that it's going to burn you.” – Chris Cade

And for the record, no cheetahs were injured during the writing of this blog post.

The Risks of Changing Your Life – By Chris Cade https://spiritualgrowthevents.com/risks-of-changing-your-life-chris-cade/ Sun, 15 May 2022 15:51:43 +0000 https://spiritualgrowthevents.com/?p=17891 One of the deep subconscious blocks we have to transforming our lives is the risk of the unknown. Specifically, the unknown risk that it’ll turn our lives upside-down. That’s because any changes we make within ourselves affects all of our closest personal relationships, and especially intimate relationships. For example, a few years into my spiritual journey, I made the incredibly difficult choice to file for divorce and leave the corporate world (and devote my life’s work to serving you). The reason it affects our personal relationships is this… Every relationship has a balance point. It’s the state of relationship in which both people subconsciously agree “this is how things should be and are going to be.” When one person makes permanent and lasting changes, it disrupts the balance point because there’s only three possible outcomes: (1) The other person accepts the changes as they are. This can be either an actual acceptance, or just a co-dependent desire to not rock the boat. If it’s an actual acceptance, the relationship can reach the balance point again rather quickly. If it’s a desire to not rock the boat, then it will most likely eventually lead to possibility number two: (2) The relationship ends. This happens because the changes are so significant that both people can no longer agree (consciously nor unconsciously) on the balance point. Sometimes it’s a literal end and a complete parting of ways. Other times it is the end of a particular way of relating, which results in a change of relationship (such as partners becoming friends). It happens because one person made notable changes while the other person was unable or unwilling to. (3) The other person changes as well. One of the deep subconscious blocks we have to transforming our lives is the risk of the unknown.

The reason it affects our personal relationships is this…

Every relationship has a balance point. It’s the state of relationship in which both people subconsciously agree “this is how things should be and are going to be.”

When one person makes permanent and lasting changes, it disrupts the balance point because there’s only three possible outcomes:

(1) The other person accepts the changes as they are.

This can be either an actual acceptance, or just a co-dependent desire to not rock the boat. If it’s an actual acceptance, the relationship can reach the balance point again rather quickly. If it’s a desire to not rock the boat, then it will most likely eventually lead to possibility number two:

(2) The relationship ends.

In an empowered relationship, this means that both people elevate their consciousness, change for the better, and ultimately find a new, more fulfilling balance point.

Circling back, remember this…

No matter which of those outcomes happens, when we change our lives we put ourselves AND others at risk.

At the most basic level, we risk our emotional stability and potentially being rejected. At a more serious level, we sometimes risk our health, home and livelihood – particularly if the changes in relationship involve the workplace (such as an employee taking more accountability, responsibility, or pushing for serious organizational changes).

In 2009 I risked it all. I filed for divorce, asked my employer to lay me off (which they did), and foreclosed on my home. In short, I faced both the emotional and practical consequences of risking everything I had and knew myself to be.

I pray that kind of severe upheaval doesn’t happen to others when they make big, important, and empowering changes in their lives. Yet it seems to be par for the course with many people.

With that in mind, when we’re reluctant to make changes in our lives we have to ask ourselves a very important yet rarely asked question:

“How much am I willing to risk to transform my life?”

Or phrased differently…

How much will you risk to have all the joy you’ve ever wanted?

How much will you risk for your freedom?

For your happiness?

For your health?

To attract that extraordinary romantic relationship your heart deeply yearns for?

If you aren’t willing to face the possibility of hurting yourself AND others, you’ll experience an inner reluctance. At least that’s what we call the nice, friendly “small” version of this emotion.

When reluctance gets too severe, we call it by a different name:

Fear.

Fast forward from the difficult times of 2009 into 2012 — when I had to go through a Dark Night of my Soul to understand that the risks of reluctance are VERY severe. I’d never wish it upon anybody else.

I used to call myself a “Reluctant Hero.” If you listen to old interviews with me, that’s how I’m introduced. That’s what my old bio said.

Eventually I realized that I couldn’t live that way anymore. I couldn’t be that person…

Because being reluctant is too risky. Far more risky than overcoming the fear, anxiety, doubts, and reluctance…

So that I can embracing all that the Divine wants me to have in this life.

My wish for you is that you look candidly at your own areas of reluctance.

Ask yourself whether the risk of reluctance is worth the reward of staying comfortable, safe, and not living up to your greatest potential.

Or if you’d rather have it the other way around…

It’s actually less risky in the long run.

In my last blog I pointed out that the world we see and think we live in is an appearance. Deep down there is simply a mess of sub-atomic particles – collectively called fermions – whose interactions are governed by fundamental messenger particles called bosons.

All kinds of strange stuff happens at the sub-atomic particle level and this has been observed and verified. Information seems to travel at speeds faster than light and a particle can exist simultaneously in more than one state. We do not ‘understand’ this but we are learning to make use of it. Expect quantum computers with vastly enhanced processing capability to arrive in your lifetime.

So if – blink! – a quark can suddenly appear and – blink! – disappear, why not an agglomeration of quarks like a house or a car? Perhaps it can and perhaps this is precisely what is happening!

Here is the world you live in. There is this unimaginably vast universe with billions of galaxies and many billions more waiting to be discovered as the James Webb telescope starts scouring the cosmos.

Each of these galaxies contains billions of stars and many are hundreds of times larger than our sun. Our sun is an average denizen on the outer fringe of an average galaxy. Our earth is a minor planet that whirls around this inconsequential star. More than 70% of the surface of this planet is covered with water and the remaining 30% is divvied up into various nation states and more than half this area is uninhabitable.

You live in one of these nation-states and are not even a fleck in the scope and scheme of the cosmos. You take this as the ‘given’. In this vast cosmos you are sometimes John, the software engineer – blink! – and sometimes Julius Caesar – blink! – and sometimes you just disappear – blink! I wrote about this in an earlier blog.

Now here is a mind-blowing idea. Sit down before you read further.

What if you are wrong? What if you were the reality and the universe with its billions of galaxies was the entity that blinks into existence and blinks out as fast?

The ‘you’ that is real is not the body-mind-intellect complex labeled John, the software engineer. It is not the dream figment called Julius Caesar. It is the entity that is aware of both.

Watch this three minute clip from the last Harry Potter film. Watch it 'til the end when Harry Potter asks Dumbledore if his battle was real or was it all happening within his head. And Dumbledore’s reply that of course it was happening inside his head but why should that mean it's not real?

For millennia, philosophers have grappled with questions such as “If a tree were to fall in the forest and there was no one around, would it make a noise?”

Mystics know that the forest, the falling tree and the noise are all inside ‘your’ head.

There is no space and time. There is only space-time. Similarly, there is no you and the universe. There is only awareness manifesting as both.

When you grok this, all your problems will drop away. In fact, you will recognize that you never had any problems to begin with.

If all this is making your head spin, take two Advils.
