Is There Joy In Your Life? – Spiritual Story by Srikumar Rao
We are early in the new year and memories of the past year are still heavy.
Here is a question for you to consider: How many times did you feel joy last year? Was there laughter that simply floated up for no reason and held you in a bubble of well-being? When there was no thought of your manifold troubles or worries about your future? When political and economic uncertainty cast no shadow on your life. In fact, you did not even think about them.
My vision for you is that you come radiantly alive many times each day. That your blood sings at the thought of what the day holds for you. That you are totally at peace with who you are and what you do and you find deep meaning in the path you are traversing.
And I suggest that if your life is not like that, you are wasting your life. And life is altogether too short to waste.
You cannot ‘find’ joy. And you cannot ‘create’ it. But you can cultivate an attitude that causes it to emerge, and you can encourage it to come out from the hole where it lies hidden.
Watch this five-minute video of Kristin Pedemonti’s TED talk:
What ‘crazy’ thing can YOU do to establish a connection with someone you would normally not have had any interaction with? And which brings a smile to your face?
Go do it. Do it today. As I mentioned, life is short.
Peace!
