The Strength of Self-Compassion: With Kristin Neff
As we all know, people are reeling from this world-wide crisis emotionally, socially, and economically. People have shared a variety of intense feelings they are experiencing during this time, among them:
- Fear
- Deep sadness
- Anxiety
- Grief
- Uncertainty over the present and what the future holds
- Vulnerability
- Despair
- Anger
- Hopelessness
What You'll Learn During “The Strength of Self-Compassion” with Kristin Neff
- Discover mindful self-compassion as a crucial form of self-care
- Learn about motivating yourself more effectively with kindness and encouragement, rather than criticism
- Find out why the more compassionate you are towards yourself, the stronger you are
- Hear about the latest surprising findings in the field of self-compassion
- Learn the three components of self-compassion, and how they apply to your life
During our time together, we will also explore what it really means to have “strength” with your self-compassion. This involves taking action in the world for protecting, providing for, and motivating ourselves to alleviate our suffering. It means saying “no” to others who are hurting us – drawing our boundaries firmly. Or saying “no” to our own harmful behaviors, so that we can be safe and healthy.
It means giving ourselves what we genuinely need – mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually – without subordinating our needs to those of others, so we can be authentic and fulfilled.
