About Your Teacher – Amit Goswami, PhD

Amit Goswami, PhD, is a retired professor from the physics department of the University of Oregon (1968 to 1997). He is a renowned pioneer of the new paradigm of quantum science based on the primacy of consciousness. He considers himself a quantum activist in search of wholeness.

In 2009, Amit started a movement called Quantum Activism, now gaining ground in North and South America (where he has founded Quantum Academy), Europe, and India. He also established the Center for Quantum Activism (CQA) with headquarters in the U.S.

In 2019, he and his collaborators established an educational wing of CQA called Quantum Activism Vishwalayam (Home of the World), acting as Department of Quantum Science at the University of Technology in Jaipur, India.They also developed a Master and PhD program in Quantum Science of Health, Prosperity, and Happiness, an international program of transformative education.

Amit has written a number of groundbreaking books based on research on quantum science and consciousness, including Quantum Integrative Medicine, Hero’s Journey Quantum Style, The Quantum Brain, Quantum Spirituality and The Re-enchantment of the Reality You Live (all the preceding titles with Valentina R. Onisor, MD), Quantum Psychology and the Science of Happiness (with Sunita Pattani, MS), The Self-Aware Universe, The Quantum Doctor, Physics of the Soul, Quantum Creativity, and The Everything Answer Book.

About Your Qigong Healing Teacher – Grandmaster Mantak Chia

Grandmaster Mantak Chia was born in Bangkok, Thailand in 1944. Recognized very early as having great potential for spiritual development, he was initiated into meditation practices by Buddhist monks at the age of six. While studying in Hong Kong, he learned Tai Chi Chuan, Aikido, and Kundalini Yoga from a variety of teachers. His pursuit of Taoist teachings led him to meet the White Cloud Hermit, a Taoist Master originally from Central China, living at that time in the mountains not far from Hong Kong. Master Yi Eng was to become Grandmaster Mantak Chia’s principal teacher. Over a period of a few years, Master Yi transmitted to Grandmaster Mantak Chia the most sacred and closely held Taoist practices, formulas, and methods of internal alchemy, culminating in the Reunion of Heaven and Man.

Realizing that, as transmitted to him, these immortal practices could not easily be absorbed by Western students, Grandmaster Mantak Chia undertook to integrate them with his studies in Western physical anatomy. Through this process, he created a unique view of the internal aspects of these practices. With the Universal Healing Tao system, he has created for the first time a way for any individual to quickly get to the essence of subtle practices whose real purpose has been shrouded in secrecy for millennia.

The author of dozens of books, booklets, and videos describing the theory and methods of these practices, Grandmaster Mantak Chia has taught thousands of eager students the principles of Taoist internal practice over the past 40 years. He has certified hundreds of instructors and practitioners to help in the transmission of these teachings.

Daily Schedule for “The Chill Pill” With Schuyler Grant

Each 20-minute class features three distinct phases: Seated breathwork and light movement followed by yin yoga postures with longer holds. Finish with reclining breathwork that slides you in a deep resting state.

DAY 1: The Subtle Pause

Simple breathwork with yin postures offer initial exposure to the healing cocktail that is your breath mixed beautifully with movement and moments of pause.

DAY 2: Moving the Breath

Through Breathwork and inner hip opening leads to a 3-part breath sequence to invite in restoration.

DAY 3: Easy Box Breathing

Experience the potent combination of breathwork with movement. You’ll build on the ratio breathing from the previous days while learning the 4:4:4:4 box breath.

DAY 4: Resting with the Wall

Enjoy legs up the wall and a return to Dirga Swasam (3-part breathing) today, slowing the pace down to 6:3:6:3.

DAY 5: A Deeper 3-Part Breath

You’ll slow your breath down to 5:7 today for your yin practice, which focuses first on opening the upper chest and triceps and then into a classic reclining Figure 4 shape.

DAY 6: Slowing Down the Pace

Today’s yin poses target deep quad and inner groin opening while the pranayama (breath) practice utilizes the effective box breath, this time slowing it down to a 5:5:5:5 ratio.

DAY 7: More Wall Support

The wall is a fantastic prop for yin postures, so we return to it today to release the outer hips. While reclining, the breath deepens to a 8:4:8:4 ratio, which will very likely send you into deep savasana.

DAY 8: Opening and Release

Class opens today with the 6:6 breath and progresses to the slowest rate yet while you embrace new yin poses for deeper opening and release.

DAY 9: Sweet Surrender

An amply supported Pigeon Pose is the pinnacle posture today, to offer sweet surrender for your hips and whole body. While reclining, slide into the slowest ratio yet — 10:5:10:5 — to feel nurtured at all layers.

DAY 10: Letting it All Go, Slowly

This course culminates at the wall for a deep yin upper chest opener and 6:9 breath tempo, before closing with a very special pranayama practice called Rechaka Kumbhaka, which is sure to send you deep into inner space.
